Minela and Adnan | Virginia Crossings Wedding | Glen Allen Wedding Photographer

The day was perfect.  The wedding was perfect.  Simple, yet very meaningful with the traditional Bosnian ways.  I was unfamiliar with the traditions and was eager to see how the day unfolded.  Minela and Adnan have a heart for their families and for their home country.

I was able to spend a lot of time with both bride and groom.  The day was not rushed, but very relaxed and centered around the Bosnian traditions.  Minela was in her room with her maid of honor and Adana was surrounded by his closest of friends while he was getting ready. When they were ready, Minela’s brother came to present her to Adnan father and in turn he then presented her to Adnan.  Hugs and love were shared on the terrace at the beautiful venue of the Virginia Crossings Hotel in Richmond, Va.   We then moved to the ballroom for the actual wedding ceremony. It was a very sweet time for Minela and Adnan to be united in marriage. The reception was filled with singing and dancing by all.  The food was incredible, with many traditional Bosnian foods that were family favorites.

I walked away from the night feeling very much apart of their family, as they embraced me as if I was one of their own.  They were always making sure  we were included.  The family took the time to explain the traditions and what songs were being sung as it was all spoken in Bosnian.

This wedding will be one to remember for a very long time. Thank you Minela and Adnan and many blessings to you both!
