A SUNNY SLOPE FARM WEDDING | Ashely & Jon
Ashely & Jon are married!!! And it was such a joy to stand by these two on their beautiful wedding day! :) From the stunning wedding details and gorgeous ceremony, to their incredible bride and groom portraits in the rolling hills...what a beautiful wedding it was! And I am so excited to be sharing it on the blog today!
The story behind these two is incredibly special, and love stories are one of my favorite parts about being a wedding photographer. Ashely and Jon's is a bit of a modern fairytale - with a traditional touch that was so fun to hear as Ashely shared it with me!
"Jon and I are both in our 40's," Ashely told me. "And neither of us has been married before! We like to say we were waiting for each other, and it just took a little longer than some to find one another.
"Our first date was so unexpectedly amazing! Jon and I met online and after messaging each other a few times, I suggested we meet at a local Irish pub for an early drink. We met on a Wednesday night, and spent the whole evening talking. Finally we both looked at each other and decided we were starving and needed dinner! We ordered burgers at the bar and continued laughing. After learning we loved the same kind of ice cream flavors, we decided to walk next door to the Dairy Queen, and on the way we had our first kiss! We have been together ever since. :)
"I knew we had talked about marriage but I had no idea he was going to propose the weekend that he did! While we were visiting my family in Virginia, he texted me and asked him to fetch something from the bedroom for him while he was outside. I found a red box with the ring under my pillow! Then he met me in the bedroom and proposed. I was shocked but SO excited, and of course I said yes! :) We celebrated with family that evening."
Isn't their story incredibly sweet? :) I also loved hearing what the two of them love about each other!
"Jon is really just a great man," Ashely said. "I adore that he's committed to reaching his goals, and he does! He's kind with a large heart, he loves his daughter more than anything in the world, he's funny, and he's extremely hardworking. He's understanding and even-tempered, and not much gets him bent out of shape. He's a problem solver, and all around...he's just a great man!"
"I love Ashely's sense of humor, and her caring spirit," Jon told me. "She is such a wonderful partner to me in all ways! She can say crazy things and do crazy things, but it's endearing and I love it!"
Ashely and Jon told me that they love riding bikes together, working out, going to watch sports games, and spending time with Jon's daughter Emma! They also love to eat together, grab a drink together, or just enjoy watching HGTV or the DIY channels on the sofa. Tell me these two aren't just made for each other! :)
"I don't know that either one of us really believes in soulmates," Ashely said. "But if they do exist then we are each other's. There really is no one else either of us would rather spend time with, or spend the rest of our days with! It's such a blessing to marry your best friend. We are just extremely blessed!"
Ashely & Jon, I'm so glad you two found each other! :) Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! Your love is a beautiful thing to see, and I wish for you a lifetime of happiness, and a marriage that is just as beautiful as your amazing wedding. Enjoy a few of my favorites from your special day! :)
